BreastScreen Queensland Rockhampton Service Health Promotion Officer Amity Musgrove said a breast screen was the best way to detect breast cancer early, well before a woman or her doctor could feel anything,.
"However, if a woman does experience any breast symptoms, she should always consult her doctor as soon as possible,’’ she said.
Ms Musgrove said the BreastScreen van visited the Central West every two years.
“This is a great opportunity for women to access breast screening, especially when it is delivered closer to your home,’’ she said.
- A doctor’s referral is not required to attend the mobile screening service, so phone BreastScreen Queensland on 13 20 50 to make an appointment today.
